Through the Mercy Ministry, the church reaches beyond its walls to love and care for the people in the community the way that God loves and cares for us so that He may be glorified both through the church and throughout our city.
As Christ dwells within us, we long to become one with the Father, loving those he loves and seeking justice for the oppressed. We aim to die to ourselves, so as to magnify God's glory and sacrifice our personal desires in the interest of lifting up those in need.

Loving As God Loves
"For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." - 2 Corinthians 4:5-6
"Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." - Matthew 25:40
"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself." - Luke 10:27
These scriptures show us that loving as God loves requires sacrifice. It means loving all sorts of people with all sorts of needs. As we work in this ministry, we often see that the hungry are also thirsty, or sick, or strangers, or lacking clothing, or otherwise shunned from society. It is our desire to meet these immediate needs, but in so doing, we aim to restore them and put them on a path toward redemption. We set up our ministries with these things in mind. We strive to make them relational so that we can more fully care for those we serve. We seek ways to become more involved in their lives and look for opportunities to point them to Jesus.
