HOLY WEEK READING & PRAYER GUIDE
The season of Lent culminates in the celebration of Holy Week, which begins Sunday, April 5 (Palm Sunday). If you've been following our Lent guide, you already have the Holy Week reading and prayer guide. If you don't have a copy, click here to download yours today!
CARE & PRAYER TEAM
We often talk of The Oaks as a "family"—and families take the burdens of one another seriously. This is even more true in times like these. We are excited to officially launch the Care & Prayer Team. We will discuss details during tomorrow's Virtual Service, but if you have an urgent need or request for prayer, please click here to fill out the request form.
As a part of our Care & Prayer Team, we've opened a new fund to be used exclusively in assisting Oaks members facing need. If you're able and willing to give, please click here and choose "Benevolence" when prompted.
MERCY AT THE OAKS | UPDATES & NEEDS
Even with the ever-changing health and safety standards, our Mercy Ministry remains open and operational! Our Food Pantry is still open every Tuesday and Thursday evening. We are working hard to make the pantry a zero-contact experience, as many of our patrons are at high risks of contracting COVID-19.
Patrons are now able to choose their items online using our new online order form. When their order is complete, their items can be picked up curbside.
Please consider serving our communities growing needs by joining our Mercy Team. Here are four ways you can help:
1. Volunteer at the Food Pantry (Tuesday and Thursday evenings)
An updated safety procedure can be found on our here and Facebook page. If you're interested in serving, contact us (by email, Facebook, Instagram, or phone) and we will get you signed up to serve.
2. Pick up Food
Kroger is allowing us to buy over the limits (praise God), so we are still shopping to stock our pantry shelves. If you're interested in serving in this capacity, contact us using the links above!
3. Donate via Pushpay
To cut back on contact, we are only accepting monetary donations at this time. Our number of patrons is growing as people are laid off and other pantries close, so we're in need of extra help funding our efforts.
Please pray for our patrons: that they would receive all they need to flourish even in this difficult season; that God would protect them and grant them health; and that they'd experience the love of God through our service. Pray for protection for our servants. Pray that God would multiply donations, and that we'd have an abundance of resources to share with our neighbors. Above all, pray that God would be known and glorified through Mercy at The Oaks amidst the chaos.
Families, we are so grateful for the opportunity to partner with you as your disciple and raise your kids. And that’s no different in this season. We are committed to continuing our mission to support you and your children in seeking and worshiping God. That's why we've created an At-Home Resource Bundle for you! All of these resources are also available on The Oaks App under The Oaks Kids tab (found in the "Start Here" folder). For more information, please read this letter from the Interim Director of The Oaks Kids, Andrea Nusbaum.
We will still be updating our weekly playlist with songs we'll be singing during our Virtual Services and other tunes that we love. Listening to gospel-saturated music in your home is a great way to practice remembering God's presence in every circumstance. You can listen to our full catalogue of songs here.
