Our Plan For Covid-19

Dear Oaks Family,

In light of the current rate of COVID-19 outbreak in the U.S., we will be cancelling all upcoming events, Sunday gatherings, and meetings. We have made this decision out love and hope that fewer social interactions will aid in the decrease of transmission and swift eradication of this virus. Here are a few things you need to know:

We will be releasing a "virtual gathering" video including a sermon and announcements.  It will be available on our website and across all communication platforms each Sunday morning. Even though we cannot gather in person, we hope you would gather in spirit by setting aside time each Sunday morning to watch or listen to the sermon. Additionally, use our weekly playlist to aid in this time and throughout your week.

Our day-to day Mercy operations will be changing, but we will not be shutting the ministry down. In fact, we will be increasing our efforts as needs grow and change in our community.

Our desire is to keep our clients safe while providing them with the items they need to survive. We will share with you needed items as they come in, but please remember our patrons needs as you think of your own.

As of today, the schools are collecting items such as thermometers, fever reducers, hand soap and sanitizer, laundry detergent, hygiene items, etc. If you have these items or can find them at the store. We will let you know where you can donate these items on Sunday.

The Neighborhood 360 project will be postponed.

This unique time has great potential for us to press into the disciplines we tend to push off because we are "too busy".  Please consider taking up a Bible reading plan, scheduling daily time in prayer, and lean into rich conversation with your spouse, roommate, friends, and children.

We've created a Wash & Worship Hand-Washing Chart to encourage singing the Doxology during hand-washing (it lasts the recommended 20 seconds!).  You can download it below, print it off, and hang it next to your sink(s).

We've also created a lock screen (here and here) for your phone with Philippians 4:6-7 and would encourage you to read and meditate upon that text before you open your News app.

Without a doubt, the world needs our prayer.  Let's commit to pray God would work mightily to prevent any further damage by this disease.  Pray for the weak, those without healthcare, medical professionals, those who are sick, and those who are mourning the loss of loved ones.  Pray for people in our community whose access to resources is being limited by the shut-down of important institutions (like schools and public transportation.) Pray for our church to be protected against illness and that we would be an example of Christ's joy and hope in the midst of fear.

We will be in touch with you very soon with updates. Please feel free to share this information. If you have specific needs and/or prayer requests, please reach out to us at

for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
